Golder has a new opportunity for a Field Technician to join our Contaminated Site team on a contract basis based in our Mississauga office.

An overview of your role will include:
Conducting fieldwork including soil and groundwater investigations, monitoring programs and overseeing site remediation;

Working within a project team playing a key role in a wide variety of contaminant assessment and remediation projects. Specific work may include contaminant hydrogeology, investigation, site characterization, and remediation of contaminated sites (including design and implementation of remedial strategies), regulatory liaison and negotiation;

Completing and assisting in data collection, compilation, interpretation and reporting for phased environmental site assessment, contaminant hydrogeological assessments, remediation and site monitoring;

Preparing and adhering to site-specific health and safety plans to mitigate or eliminate risks to oneself and other Golder staff, client’s personnel and the public;

Reporting all health and safety concerns, incidents and near miss events and participating in all office-lead health and safety initiatives;

Maintaining a high standard of ethical behavior to uphold Golder’s reputation and demonstrating a commitment to our Core Values; and,

Performing other duties as required.

You will have a background in:
Diploma in Environmental Science or Engineering;

Between 1 to 3 years of relevant experience;

Being able to read a map, and use a GPS for field locations;

Valid driver’s license;

Environmental consulting experience is an asset;

Knowledge of Federal Contaminated Site Guidelines and procedures; and,

Knowledge of Ontario Regulation 153 Standards would be an asset;

Accurate/ Attention to detail;
Able to take initiative,
