Currently, were looking for an established finance professional to join our team as a part time Finance Officer.

About The Position:
As our new Finance Officer, you will enjoy a multi-faceted, hands-on role within our organization. You will lead and tactically execute a variety of finance activities including day-to-day accounting, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and regular and ad hoc reporting. You will work closely with the volunteer Regional Chairs, and senior management to provide sound financial guidance, and will facilitate our yearly audit process.
Specifically, your role will involve:
Day-to-day accounting overseeing BCACCs chart of accounts and all general ledgers, monitoring and ensuring all expenditures are consistently aligned with the budget, managing all accounts payable and receivable in Sage 50, preparing all reconciliations, and providing backup function for our payroll and timesheet system.
Budgeting and forecasting overseeing the annual budget process in conjunction with the senior leadership team, and managing the financial forecasting in partnership with the senior leadership team.
Financial reporting analyzing financial data metrics and regularly presenting financial reports to the Executive Director and senior management team; creating and communicating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and analyzing variances from budget; providing ad hoc reports to senior management and project teams as needed.
Audit preparing all audit working papers and coordinating external audit activity.
Finance and Audit Committee and Board of Directors attending quarterly Finance and Audit committee meetings, and Board meetings at request of the Executive Director, to provide accurate and timely financial information and advice.

As part of our team of 13, youll enjoy a healthy, cohesive, and collaborative team environment that encourages self-evaluation, self-reflection, and growth. Were a supportive group with a good sense of humour, in a flexible work environment.
This is a part-time (25 hours/week) permanent position, with a start date of January 6th, 2020. You will work out of our office in beautiful Victoria, BC. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am 4:30 pm, and well work with you to determine a schedule that fits. Some flexibility will be required during peak periods (audit, budget season, etc.)
Youll earn a competitive salary, with generous benefits, RRSP matching, a wellness fund, and professional development fund. Vacation will start at 3 weeks.
CPA, CMA, CGA accredited
Minimum of 8-10 years of professional accounting experience at the management level
Minimum of 5 years managing the finances of a $2-3 million not-for-profit organization
Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, complex budgeting, control, and reporting
Experience in preparing audit working papers
Definite interest in hands-on daily tasks
Experience with Sage 50 accounting software is preferred
Advanced technology skills in Microsoft Excel, as well as general office software and programs
Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, or similar discipline is an asset
