Greenergy International is a UK based Oil company (majority owned by Canadian investor Brookfield Business Partners) that owns and operates a number of facilities within the UK and Globally. With continued large scale investment and development within Canada the company now requires the appointment of Projects and Engineering Manager to facilitate the successful delivery of the project portfolio along with providing engineering and maintenance support to current and new assets. Although based in Canada this role will form part of the Central Engineering and Project Team based in the UK who are responsible for the corporate Project portfolio and Engineering compliance.

The role will require frequent travel throughout Canada due to development locations with possible, infrequent, travel to the UK or other countries as required.

Opportunity

The Projects and Engineering Manager is required to perform their role autonomously across numerous locations within Canada ensuring development projects are managed in line with business requirements and systems delivered on time and budget.

Main Job Purpose

The role includes but is not limited to the following activities:

Manage the project management methodology for Canada in line with corporate PMMS which includes but is not limited to:
Develop statement of need and scopes of works for new developments.
Manage scope development and creep.
Technical query (TQ) focal point.
Populating application for expenditure (AFE) to secure capital and operating expenditure.
Managing budgets and forecasting spend.
Contract and contractor management
Accurate and timely communication of all project milestones/slippage.
Approval of invoices against work completed.
Hazard and operability (HAZOP) attendance
Factory/Site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) witness and approval.
Final project sign off
Ensure all designs are fully reviewed and assessed for compliance with any/all associated legislation
Ensure all Construction activities are carried out in compliance with all associated legislation
Assist in the obtaining of any/all required permitting for development projects
Act as technical adviser for Greenergy to any competent authorities as required.
With assistance from the UK team negotiate, manage and execute commercial contracts for project delivery with third party companies.
Develop and champion a maintenance management system (MMS) for all new assets.
Assist all terminals as required with the development of maintenance management systems in line with legislative requirements.
Responsible for legislative engineering compliance of all assets.
Conduct/assist in technical audits as required in support of the corporate Process Integrity team.
Develop and manage maintenance contracts with 3rd party contractors across all disciplines, as required.
Act as the engineering focal point for any failures of plant and subsequent investigations.
Act as the focal point for engineering management of change (MOC).

Skills / Attributes

Experience

Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
Project Management
Experience within the Oil & Gas Industry would be considered an asset
Availability to travel internationally for business purposes
Experience working within a team framework
Procurement experience
Must have a strong desire to continuously learn and work within a fast-paced environment

Hours of employment

Monday to Friday: 8am to 5pm. This role may require evening and weekend work from time to time.
