We are looking for a Leasing Paralegal or Real Estate Lawyer to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead all functions related to our commercial leases for existing and prospective locations.


  • Review and edit commercial leases and related documents including amending agreements, sublease and assignment agreements, lease terminations, renewals, etc.;
  • Communicates and negotiates non-business provisions contained in lease documentation directly with Landlords, lawyers and other third parties and reviews business provisions;
  • Responsible for the completion of all formal lease documents;
  • Coordinates the execution of all leases and related documents in a timely manner;
  • Collaborate in setting up standardized lease clauses, lease provisions and lease related document templates;
  • Preparation of daily updates of lease documentation status on outstanding files for internal use and tracking;
  • Liaises with various stakeholders internally and externally in response to leasing related matters;
  • Assists with lease review for acquisition due diligence process;
  • Works with Leasing team to review and establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and to create best practices, tools and templates;
  • Develops strong relations with Landlords & all other real estate professionals; and
  • Initiates and completes other projects and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in law or a recognized college level Paralegal Technology programwith equivalent work experience
  • 5to 10 years’of directly-related experiencein retail industry
  • Perfect command of both English and French (spoken and written)
  • Strong understanding/experience with lease administration and legal correspondence
  • Strong ability to work as part of a team, show initiative and also work independently
  • Strong computer skills and use of MS Office
  • Excellent communications skills with fundamental problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and changing priorities
  • Strong understanding/experience with lease administration and legal correspondence
  • A driven, dedicated and positive attitude
