Information Technology Specialist - Level 1

We are a large family owned Canadian company involved in the beverage alcohol industry across Canada. We are looking for an experienced technician to provide support to our network of computing and telecommunication equipment in our Burnaby office and to support equipment throughout our country wide network. This position will also provide personal support to our users country wide, covering hardware, software, basic networking, Microsoft office applications and Microsoft Cloud.

SUMMARY

Under supervision of our IT Department Manager, this position will be responsible to maintain, troubleshoot and provide upgrades for computer hardware, software, personal computers, networks, servers, switches, Virtual and cloud environment. Tasks include training of users in effective use of applications, documentation, preparation, and providing assistance to users.

SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform analysis, diagnosis and resolution of desktop/notebook problems for end-users;
  • Install, configure, test and maintain end-user workstations and related hardware / software under the guidance of our network administrators;
  • Collaborate with network administrators to ensure efficient operation of the company's desktop / notebook computer environment;
  • Receive and respond to incoming requests regarding computing problems;
  • Participate in local projects on the deployment of technology installations and upgrades;
  • Ability to coordinate support requests and projects with external vendors;
  • Test software systems to ensure functional compliance;
  • Other duties as assigned;

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of company supported network platforms;
  • Very Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite as well as Operating Systems;
  • Microsoft Windows Server management knowledge;
  • Proficient with Office365 admin “Cloud”;
  • Proficient in managing Active directory;
  • Knowledge of Azure protection;
  • Knowledge of Azure AD and AD Connect;
  • Knowledge of Azure Virtual server configurations and management;
  • Knowledge of Azure Intune;
  • Knowledge of SharePoint 365 Administration considered an asset;
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot computer network hardware/ software;
  • Ability to provide a range of systems training and/or support activities for users;
  • Ability to develop and write documentation and guides for users;
  • Knowledge of networking topologies;
  • Job requires a high level of customer service and interpersonal communications;
  • arePoint 365 Administration considered an asset;
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot computer network hardware/ software;
  • Ability to provide a range of systems training and/or support activities for users;
  • Ability to develop and write documentation and guides for users;
  • Knowledge of networking topologies;
  • Job requires a high level of customer service and interpersonal communications skills;
  • ITIL certification considered an asset;
  • English/French bilingualism an asset;
  • Proof of certifications;
