The Manufacturing Shop Operations Manager will demonstrate leadership in managing operations of business processes for an area or business segment within a production facility. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and team, and effect short and some long-term business goals while managing the daily manufacturing operations to ensure reliability and consistency in production.
Manage an operation, business, unit, or part of a production facility in order to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery and safety.
Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards.
Provide process method excellence throughout the organization
Lead own team to achieving goals in asset utilization, process / manufacturing loss improvement, quality and cost reduction
Communicate key business or customer issues across direct organization and across the function in area of expertise.
Direct the manufacturing of production and development of hardware
Responsible for meeting all established people, quality, cost, delivery and safety commitments
Ensure team is aware of and in compliance with all GE government, customer and applicable policies, procedures, rules and regulations
Pursue state of the art technology and processes to enhance product / process productivity
Interface with other organizations and vendors to assure requirements are met on time
Develop necessary business plans to enhance all program requirements, including throughput, labor hours, cycle, cost productivity, and image
Direct organization and staff positions optimally to accomplish business objectives
Bachelor of Applied Science and/or Engineering degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum 5 years of Supply Chain experience in manufacturing organizations including at least 2 years of experience as a People Leader in Manufacturing Operations.
Must be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not
limited, reference verification and background check.
Must have unrestricted Canadian work authorization, or obtain work
authorization in the short term;
Experience in electronics box builds and system final assembly
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
