We’re looking for a Permanent Part-Time Service Advisor to join our Toronto, ON team!

The Opportunity:
The Service Advisor will provide exceptional customer service by:

Quoting on and upselling value-added / refurbishment services (wash, detail, paint, decal removal).
Handling mechanical issues with consigned and Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (RBA) equipment.
Sourcing parts and arranging 3rd party service calls/repairs.

In this role you’ll:
Participate in safe and environmentally sound work behaviours and objectives at all times in support of RBA’s Health & Safety policies/programs and initiatives
Manage both internal (TM’s) and external(buyer/seller) customer relationships
Work with TM’s on high profile contracts/equipment to provide detailed repair & refurbishment schedules to aid in deal management
Manage and maintain the service provider agreements with all refurbishing & third-party vendors
Manage the auction site’s relationship with the Paint Service Contractor and other 3rd party vendors.
Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.

Manage aspects of auction repair and/or refurbishment work including the below listed activities:

Triage & direct mechanical requests from yard staff and assign to appropriate mechanics for diagnosis and/or repair
Obtain and build quotes and repair plans
Communicate mechanical issues to customers and RBA Territory Managers (TM’s)
Documentation of approvals, declines, repairs & no replies
Creation of purchase orders
Communication/negotiation with repair service providers
Quality Control
KPI tracking and reporting

Identification of auction items in need of refurbishment
Quote creation – photographing equipment to document work required
Communicate refurbishment needs to internal/external customers
Documentation of approval, declines & no replies
Creation of purchase orders
Communication with refurbishing service providers
Quality Control
Meeting weekly quotation targets
KPI tracking and reporting
Assist in managing aspects of non-auction refurbishing including the following:
Solicitation of work/quotation process
Assist with advertising initiatives
Quote creation
Documentation of approval to proceed with prescribed refurbishing
Creation of purchase orders
Communication with refurbishing service providers
Quality Control
KPI tracking and reporting

Here’s what you bring:
High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Apprentice or full mechanic (heavy or automotive) preferred
Previous experience as a Service Advisor is a plus but not mandatory
Technical aptitude with basic knowledge of heavy trucks and/or equipment
High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word & Outlook
Experience in a high-volume environment dealing with documents that require a high level of precision is a must
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build strong relationships.
Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.

This job will require you to:
Work a minimum of guaranteed 30 hours per week
Work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
Work overtime and weekends during peak auction periods.
