The Opportunity

The Regional Operations Manager (ROM) is responsible for leading and managing the training, improvement and compliance of operations process and procedures for the profitability of multiple Sales Centers in a designated Region of the Company. Each Sales Center is a large, established wholesale HVAC/Refrigeration/business unit that manages and sells multiple brands of equipment, parts and supplies. The goal of this role is to successfully manage the daily operations and processes of the multiple Sales Centers

  • Represents the company as a leader in the industry ensuring maximum support of the sales, profitability and operational function of each Business Unit.
  • Takes direction and collaborates with the Regional General Manager to protect CE assets and ensure all processes are trained and followed to minimize/eliminate any loss to the P&L.
  • Educates Sales Center Managers to support reduction of Excess, Slow and Damaged (ESD) and Predictive Inventory Aging (PIA). Reviews weekly reports to action ESD with RGM and Sales Centre Managers and make suggestions for any underperforming locations.
  • Educates Sales Center Managers on inventory management performance as it relates to cycle count variances, scrapped inventory, pending warranty items, reserved sales orders over 30 days, fillable backorders, negative on-hand items, bin location management, aged WT’s and open PO’s.
  • Collaboratively engages with Sales Center Managers on daily and weekly duties as it pertains to operational checklists while maintaining a high customer service level amongst all Sales Center employees.
  • Collaborates with regional teams to protect CE assets and ensure all processes are trained and followed to minimize / eliminate any loss to P&L
  • Supports implementation of any new or modified, policies and procedures issued by corporate departments i.e.; champion Order Fulfillment (OF) and Damage App use
  • Conducts training meetings/conference calls with all Regional teams to review current topics and/or issues as they relate to the operations of the Sales Centers and Hubs; coordinate with the President to prepare and conduct annual managerial training conferences.
  • Regularly attend Regional Sales meetings to keep abreast of current sales initiatives.
  • Collaborates and communicates with Regional Account Managers, Regional Operations Managers, and Sales Center Managers to review and resolve any operational topics and/or issues for customers.
  • Support regional annual physical inventory (PI)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Business or related field preferred.*
  • Minimum 5-10 years operational experience in the HVAC industry and product lines associated with HVAC, Refrigeration**
  • Fluently bilingual French and English*
  • experience managing wholesale HVAC equipment supply houses.
  • Proficiency in air conditioning, heating and ventilation equipment at a wholesale distribution level preferred
  • Proven success in operations and leadership roles.
  • Proven success in managing and mentoring other employees while establishing operational goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including operational analytics, problem solving, and customer service are absolutely required.
  • Ability to analyze sales and market data.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&L statements.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with skills to multi-task on different levels
  • Ability to give quality presentations.
  • Ability to work independently but meet assigned goals and objectives in designated time frames.
  • Must possess the attitude of wanting to learn, teach and lead.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
