Under the general supervision of the Program Team Manager, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface General Hospital, the CLINICAL PRACTICE NURSE - REGISTERED NURSE (RN) provides professional registered nursing services for patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs. These services include independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, a leadership role within the health care team, and coordination of patient care and discharge.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THIS POSITION IS COMPRISED OF L2 INTERMEDIATE MEDICAL CARE UNIT AND A6 SOUTH CARDIOLOGY/CLINICAL ASSESSMENT UNIT. NURSES WILL BE EXPECTED TO WORK IN BOTH GEOGRAPHIC AREAS.
One (1) year recent acute medicine or cardiology or CSIU or emergency nursing experience required.
Nurses currently working on the Unit will be deemed qualified.
SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE Advanced Assessment Course when the opportunity to take the course is scheduled by the employer, or as otherwise mutually agreed to between the nurse and employer.
CRNM registration required.
Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
ANNUAL BLS LEVEL C REGISTRATION/RE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
Qualifications and Skills
Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT.
