We’re searching for someone to join JDRF in the newly created role of National Development Coordinator. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), you would have the opportunity to provide the highest level of administrative and coordination support to the CDO including meeting coordination, calendar management, document review, travel arrangements, expense and development reporting.
Does the above resonate with you? As the National Development Coordinator, you would have the opportunity to make an impact by:
Providing excellent donor/volunteer/internal service including first point of contact with key donors and volunteers;
Managing and prioritizing the activities and calendar of CDO including internal/external meetings, optimizing travel itinerary and logistics;
Proactively managing donor meetings for the CDO, collaborating with Regional and Major Gifts staff to capitalize on CDO’s availability and ensuring top prospects are met with regularly;
Coordinating material development such as research or background one-pagers and preparing meeting notifications, briefing notes and meeting notes;
Preparing for internal and external meetings including presentation preparation, meeting materials, room bookings, catering, AV requirements, and special guest request;
Monitoring donor activity, ensuring contact reports and follow-up actions are recorded and completed;
Regularly maintaining and updating donor records;
Running a variety of lists and reports from the CRM in order to contact constituents or evaluate fundraising effectiveness;
Coordinating Relationship Managers management in CRM, including preparing for monthly review of new prospects to assign, review of prospects to reassign, status reports to Relationship Managers,
Proactively inputting and tracking information in CRM to ensure information is accurate and up to date;
Organizing Development team Leadership meetings including scheduling, preparing agendas, coordinating schedules and taking minutes;
Assisting in the coordination of information between different Development leaders and the National Support Office including event calendars, procedures and documentation;
Drafting and editing content including correspondence, reports, proposals etc.;
Collecting, completing and submitting expense statements for payment on behalf of the CDO.

College diploma in General Business or equivalent experience
5+ years previous related office experience; some exposure to the philanthropic or non-profit sector would be an asset
A responsive customer service orientation and experience interacting with volunteers and donors
Experience working with volunteer committees
Expert knowledge of office software including Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as Internet research skills; experience working with a CRM (Clearview, Raiser’s Edge, etc.)
Experience with meeting management, i.e. agenda setting, compiling board packages, taking minutes, etc.
Advanced appreciation of administrative standards including document formatting and quality, correspondence style, and the appearance of all materials prepared for external use
Excellent interpersonal skills, and an energetic, friendly ‘can-do’ attitude, with the ability to maintain tact and professionalism in order to work with all levels of internal management and staff as well as donors, volunteers and outside vendors, partners and customers
Excellent organizational skills with diligent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work efficiently
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow-through to effectively manage workflow and continuously improve the efficiency of the office
Comfortable with changing work demands and priorities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated superior organizational and time management skills
Self-motivated and able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment under minimal supervision and handle confidential/highly sensitive information
Some flexibility of hours required, including the potential for evening and weekend work (up to 10%)
