Seeking mechanical and electrical engineers with 5-years of experience in Building HVAC, Automation and Controls, and Energy Metering to take a leading role in our Building Performance Engineering department, leading Measurement & Verification (M&V), Commissioning and Monitoring Based Commissioning projects and assisting with the overall development of standards and procedures for these projects.

It is essential for all applicants to possess excellent interpersonal, leadership, management, and technical communication skills. Applicant shall be commercially aware and capable of working well under pressure within a team. Strong written English skills and confident interpersonal communication skills are of particular importance, as the position involves representing the company at meetings and producing reports for an audience of owner representatives contractors, design consultants and other executive level project stakeholders. Relevant technical expertise (mechanical and/or electrical testing, design, and/or operations experience in buildings/facilities) is also a major asset.

Performance Engineering for Commissioning Projects:

  • Provide technical support for Commissioning Projects throughout western Canada.
  • Development of Commissioning Plans and Performance Testing Procedures.
  • Field review, analysis and reporting on mechanical and electrical building system and central plants.
  • Witnessing and reporting on performance testing of building systems.
  • Reviews of Mechanical and Electrical Systems Design.

Design Engineering:

  • Perform engineering studies into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of mechanical and/or electrical systems in new and/or existing buildings
  • Design of mechanical systems (Fire Protection, Plumbing, HVAC, BAS Controls)
  • Design of electrical systems (Electrical Distribution, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Security and Access Control, Communication and IT systems).
  • Prepare design documentation including:
  • Preparation of systems drawings in AutoCad
  • Engineering Studies (load calculation and reports)
  • Equipment selection and sizing
  • Preparation of specification documents
  • Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for mechanical and electrical systems,
  • Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for construction or maintenance
  • Construction Contract Administration
  • Shop drawings review and approval
  • RFI responses
  • Site inspection and reporting
  • Contractor payment certification
