Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre (KRRC) serves children and adults with intellectual, developmental, physical, behavioral, psychological, and/or psychiatric disabilities.
We have immediate openings for Residential Rehabilitation Worker (RRW) casual positions in our community option home in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.
As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the RRW
provides a range of supports working directly with clients which include, but are not limited, to assisting with increasing daily living and coping skills through the implementation of positive programming;
assists with recreational opportunities;
supports a safe, secure environment;
provides support with personal care ranging from, feeding and total support using a mechanical lift, to prompting.
Encourages clients to maximize independent functioning to the best of their ability and supports them
performs their role in keeping with the values, goals, mission, and philosophy of KRRC and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
NOTE: Successful candidates are required to complete on-line education prior to starting employment.
Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre Offers:
Competitive pay rate $15.35 - $20.23 per hour, along with weekend and shift premiums
Option to join optional pension plan after 24 continuous months with required hours per calendar year for casual employees

Grade XII Diploma or GED
Disability Supports & Services Certificate or Continuing Care Assistant Certificate preferred
Current certification in Standard First Aid/CPR (Level C)
CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. (NOTE: KRRC offers NVCI to successful candidates who need this course, at the employee's expense.)
Availability to work weekdays, weekends and holidays; shift work; days, evenings and nights.
Required to provide Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Search.
Experience with persons who have intellectual disabilities, mental illness and past work experience in residential settings an asset.
Candidates must be able to provide 3 references; work references or combination of work reference and other professional references such as instructor, volunteer placement or coach.
