The Director of Marketing is responsible for overseeing a digital transformation in Medavie's Marketing function, developing innovative marketing strategies across the company's health solutions businesses and helping Medavie deliver on its mission of improving the well-being of Canadians. Partnering closely with the Sales and Product teams, the incumbent will lead a team of marketing professionals in driving growth and retention in the Medavie Blue Cross group and individual insurance business through the development of compelling marketing campaigns and engaging advisor and client communications and events. The Director of Marketing will also partner with the Digital Direct team to develop, measure and adjust the go-to market strategy for one of Medavie's key growth initiatives and work with peers in Marketing and Communications to ensure a consistent and compelling brand.
Inspire and lead the Marketing team, driving a high-performance, innovative, analytical and learning culture.
As part of a company-wide shift, lead a digital transformation in the marketing function, mentoring staff and identifying and prioritizing new tools and approaches that enable best-in-class engagement and measurement.
Oversee the development of compelling marketing campaigns and identification of sponsorship opportunities to meet ambitious growth and retention goals and build awareness of the company in key growth markets.
Partner with the Product and Digital Direct teams to bring new products to market and develop strategies to revitalize existing ones.
Create a disciplined and analytical approach to identifying and maximizing opportunities for revenue growth and retention across the enterprise; develop reporting capability to track, measure, and optimize results.
Lead the team in creating compelling advisor, client and member communications and events, positioning us as a trusted partner and key resource, and meeting our partners and clients wherever they are (online or in person).
As a member of the Marketing and Communications leadership team, participate in the development and delivery of the brand strategy through all marketing activities.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships within the organization with ties to key partners including Sales, Product, Digital Direct, Brand and Communications, Medavie Health Foundation and the Executive team.
Work closely with Director of Brand and Communications to manage agency relationships, growth in brand awareness, consistency and understanding.
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing or Communications
10-15 years marketing experinece, with 5+ years leadership in a digital-first marketing organization
Experience using/implementing Marking Automation tools an asset
Bilingual (French and English) an asset
Deep digital marketing expertise, with an unrelenting focus on measurement and continuous improvement
Proven experience in developing integrated national and regional marketing strategies, ideally in both B2B and B2C markets.
Proven experience building a marketing team that has its eye on the future and is responsive to its partners and the marketplace.
A mission driven individual who is decisive and has the courage and confidence to lead and inspire an organization through change and periodic uncertainty.
