Reporting to a Project Manager, the Environmental Technician’s main task will be to carry out or supervise activities on the construction site for assigned projects with respect to site characterization and rehabilitation and environmental monitoring of the work.
Act as Field Manager in conducting environmental and geotechnical drilling, exploratory trenches and manual surveys;
Take samples of diverse media (soil, residual matter, water air, granulometry);
Provide work supervision on the construction site: characterization campaign, environmental rehabilitation and management of contaminated soil;
Conduct ground surveys and carry out groundwater quality monitoring;
Collect data within the context of historical research (Phase I);
Prepare supplier purchase orders;
Working under the supervision of the Project Manager, submit requests for chemical analysis;
Prepare data compilation tables;
Working under the supervision of the Project Manager, take part in the drafting and preparation of reports;
Coordinate and verify the inventory of onsite and warehoused materials;
Verify the proper functioning of materials.
Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in a field related to the environment;
Minimum de 5 (five) years of relevant practical experience;
Familiarity with geotechnics is an asset ;
Experience in environmental site characterization (Phase I to III) and environmental rehabilitation;
Excellent knowledge of French and English (speaking and written);
Solid knowledge of applicable technical frameworks (characterization manual, technical manuals, etc.);
Holder of construction site safety certification (ASP Card)
Holder of a valid driver’s licence
