The Absence Management Consultation Services (AMCS) team is part of a larger Group Benefits Disability organization. Join this national team that makes a difference each day as they focus on the health, productivity and positive financial outcomes for our client (plan sponsor), and its employees, by helping to reduce the duration of the plan sponsors' employees work absences.

This role can be remote Work from Home in Nova Scotia or New Brunswick.
Requirement to complete 2 week training program in our Halifax Office.

Key Accountabilities of the role:
Collect information regarding the participant’s absence by communicating with them, their employer and the attending physician.
Evaluate the participant’s eligibility for their employer’s disability benefits program; based on a series of criteria and conduct regular follow-ups throughout the duration of their absence.
Develop, monitor and implement innovative case management services focusing on reducing the duration of plan sponsors employee work absences
Identify and resolve disability and workplace issues through direct contact/phone consultation with plan sponsors, employees, physicians and other health care professionals
Make recommendations on referrals to work facilitation resources
Manage medical/non-medical and complex cases using a goal-oriented plan

What we need from you!

University degree in a Health Sciences such Kinesiology, Nursing, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Rehabilitation or Occupational Health, or other regulated health care disciplines
Bilingual in English/French
Previous work experience in a clinical setting in a health-related field is helpful
Real focus on customer service, with strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively deliver difficult messages to clients
Case management experience is an asset
Sound knowledge of occupational health issues, vocational rehabilitation and disability insurance
Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word and Excel
analytical skills to evaluate conflicting information from various sources in order to assess risk
Exceptional time management skills to manage high volumes of cases within specified deadlines
