As the multi-specialty group practice for the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School, University of Minnesota Physicians has more than 950 physicians and 1,600 health professionals, providing clinical care in over 100 specialty and sub-specialty areas. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership and management of APRN/PA staff within a specified area by coordinating schedules, on-boarding new hires, supervising professional development, and conducting performance reviews. The APP Supervisor is responsible for leading and promoting program changes within their assigned area to achieve organizational goals. The APP Supervisor will lead efforts to optimize the efficiency and utilization of the APRN/PA role within assigned area. Majority of time (~80-90%) is spent in direct care of patients in the inpatient and/or outpatient settings .

Practice Details:
Leadership of APRN/PA Providers (within area specified by supervisor)
Trains/supervises APRN/PAs within an assigned area/specialty. Ensures all new hire meet competency criteria within first year of hire.
Coordinates subordinate APRN/PA daily work schedules

Leads the APRN/PA team in developing and completing process improvement and/or research projects

Assesses health status for specific patient populations using advanced practice knowledge and skills.

Develops and implements an individualized patient plan of care

Contributes to effective and efficient practice management policies and practices that support patient access to medical care.

Manages patient care through appropriate use of available resources.
Provides leadership for clinic and community relations
Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served. (as applicable)
Fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC).
Flexibility of schedule (block shifts, days/week, etc.)
Openings: 2.0 FTE

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Adult Practitioner training program or a graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program.
Current MN RN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges or a current PA license with prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice.
Certified through ANCC/AANP or eligible for ANCC/AANP national exam or through the NCCPA and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
