Over the years SPP has been recognized as the leader in the industry for servicing customers in the automotive industry and as a result of years of experience, SPP has created a new division: Automotive Vertical Market (AVM). The AVM team or division is formed by customers in the automotive industry, including automotive manufacturing companies, and other companies that are in the auto space that are formed by a large dealer network across the country. These customers include but are not limited to heavy equipment, tool manufacturers, tooling and parts distributors and (or) tire manufacturing companies.

These manufacturing companies have a large dealer network therefore, SPP is looking for a team of individuals that will join the newly formed AVM team and service SPP’s customers dealer network market by increasing leads and generating sales (Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia).

As part of the Sales Team, this team of individuals will work within the Field or National Sales servicing to an existing list of customers. Responsible for achieving personal sales and profit goals. This individual will collaborate with CSR team to ensure ordering and delivery of sales are met.

Work Location: Please note that 20% of the time home based, and 80% of the time in the field across Montreal and surrounding cities.
Contract Duration: 12 months with a strong possibility of extension based on business needs.

Work Schedule: Full Time, 37.5 hour workweek, from Monday to Friday, during regular business hours.

Increase sales within existing customer base through proactive activities such as customer visits, calls, marketing and delivering an exceptional level of customer service. Secure new accounts through networking and prospecting
Research and prepare quotes to ensure maximum profit and market competitiveness.
Increase sales by staying current with new products and trends as well as developing an awareness of customer requirements/preferences and changes in the local market, competitors and industry.
Maintain a record of sales activities and follow up requirements in the designated computer systems.
Assist in the development and maintenance of the SPP brand by utilizing promotional materials to introduce and increase customer knowledge of SPP in the local market.
Ensure customers have complete satisfaction with their SPP experience. Respond immediately to inquiries, issues and customer complaints. Act as a liaison between SPP and customers with regards to invoicing and service problems.
Work with the CSR team to ensure that all orders are placed and delivered according to the customer requirements.
Add value to the customer experience by developing a thorough understanding of their business, project and/or operational requirements. Advise the customer on the best product(s) to accomplish objectives and recommend discounts, and/or custom solutions. Provide creative solutions to exceed customer expectations.
Contribute to the team by participating in sales team calls/meetings, sharing best practices and success stories, collaborating on proposal development.


As a Field Sales Rep(FSR), the individual will be interacting mainly with the AVM sales team, the Special-Order team (SPO) and the Customer Service team as offers are developed for in market execution.

Daily/ Weekly interactions with the AVM manager, as well as other Account Managers in the AVM team to establish and communicate status of weekly results.

Occasionally participate and interact with promotional products suppliers.

The FSR will be interacting with different types of customers at the dealer level. Some of these customers include: Parts Managers, Service Managers, General Managers and Dealer Principles

Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience within a sales role.

Vehicle access is required.

Strong interpersonal, communication and presentations skills with a flare for sales.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Builds collaborative relationships and trust through open communication.

Product knowledge of a broad range of products and services.

Ability to work on different projects simultaneously.

Strong team player and must be able capable of self-management.

Innovative, motivated, organized, high energy team player who takes ownership.

Ability to communicate effectively cross functionally.

Product knowledge of a broad range of products and services and vendor relations, an asset.

Promotional Product Certifications is an asset; but not required.

Cold calling experience is an asset.

2-3-year diploma in sales or business or equivalent working experience within a B2B sales environment is preferred.
