Working in Complex Injury Outpatient Services, the Kinesiologist provides comprehensive assessment, intervention, consultation and education services for patients with ABI and/or complex trauma; provides supervision and coordination of groups and work simulation circuits; conducts Functional Abilities Evaluations; provides supervision and coordination of gym and rehabilitation exercise programs; collaborates with an interprofessional team in providing patient focused care; communicates effectively with patients, families, colleagues and third party payors; develops comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plans; completes reports and insurance forms, as appropriate; maintains current understanding of MVA and WSIB legislation; completes workload statistics and other reports to assist with business functions; participates in quality management and research initiatives, student supervision and in professional, program and hospital development, as appropriate; and demonstrates understanding of, compliance with, and commitment to, patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients.
Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology or equivalent.
Current registration and member in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (CKO).
Basic Cardiac Life Support (C Level) Heart Saver Plus Canada (on employment).
Membership with Professional Association (e.g. Ontario Kinesiology Association) preferred.
Previous experience in trauma, acquired brain injury, neurological, musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions is required.
FAE, Return to work planning, Job Site Assessment, and Work Simulation skills preferred
Strong customer service focus and excellent communication skills (verbal and written) required.
Excellent computer skills with MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook.
Ontario Class G drivers’ license an asset.
Travelling between sites and off-site locations may be required.
