This is a hybrid role. Inside Sales Representation to increase sales to established base of small and large retail clients. Outside Sales Representation to grow new accounts and market segments.

Compensation:

  • Base Salary $40,000 + commission uncapped
  • Commissions earned on new accounts – 15% paid monthly.

Hours:

  • 6.5 hours a day (Mon – Fri)
  • Travel required in Canada

Responsibilities

The Inside/Outside Sales Representative is responsible for increasing existing and new customer sales account penetration and market share for three established Ontario- based baby product companies. Full understanding and immersion of all three companies and their products is a must. The person would provide consultative support to clients acting as the product expert. The interaction with the customer may include meetings, presentations, trade shows, customer follow-up, and sales support. The successful candidate will work closely and collaboratively with the entire cross-functional team, reporting directly to the President of each company.

  • Primary responsibilities for Inside Sales (50% time allocation)
  • Place outgoing calls to prospective customer database and secure customer purchase commitment
  • Gather, record and update customer information in client database
  • Confirm, update and build client database (CRM) with new clients
  • Qualify each customer/prospect to determine sales potential, and develop a strategy for pricing and product line
  • Analyze customer’s purchases and provide insight within monthly Managers Reports/Meetings on sales and consumption trends.
  • Maintain a follow-up system of contact for business prospects with CRM database
  • Build and maintain good rapport and trusted relationships with storeowners and category buyers and handle situations with confidence, tact and resourcefulness
  • Liaise with sales staff about current and future opportunities and promotions
  • Deliver measurable sales growth across all channels
  • Establish yearly sales targets and promotional plans
  • Aid marketing department on product catalog and changes based on analysis; sort, ranking, exposure, location, etc in conjunction with marketplace partners
  • Work with the Marketing Department to secure/execute profitable promotions
  • Maintain accurate records of all pricing, sales productivity, gross profit, expenses, and activity reports
  • Primary responsibilities for Outside Sales (50% of time allocation)
  • Drive business forward. Increase new client base through cold calling within respective territory – close sales, win business and reach sales goals
  • Turn prospects into loyal clients. Implement a sales strategy targeting key decision makers, business owners and buyers to build a network and drive business
  • Conduct presentations and product demonstrations to new and existing clients to increase product awareness and generate sales
  • Actively manage call schedule to ensure assigned territory is covered in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of sales call reports and other documentation
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and tact when overcoming objections from new or existing clients
  • Management & Administration
  • Provide analysis of historical sales results quarterly and annually
  • Set up specialty retail customers in CRM
  • Enter sales orders over the phone via CRM and assist customers by email and phone
  • Participate in regular sales meetings and attend local trade shows with staff

What we are looking for:

  • Post-secondary education preferable with a strong penchant for Sales, Marketing or Business
  • 3 years' related experience in consumer products industry – preference to toys and baby/infant items
  • 2-3 years of business to business sales experience and commission based sales experience
  • Very strong sales aptitude, ambitious self-starter with experience in working with vendors/suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to close sales and achieve sales quotas
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and presentation skills a must
  • Strong problem identification skills with proven record in overcoming objections
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to read, react, and adapt your sales approaches as necessary
  • Ability to articulate issues both verbally and in writing, outlining possible solutions
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Must be fluent in English
