The Corporate Systems Business Analyst is a senior professional responsible for working with business, technical and vendor stakeholders to ensure Corporate Application Systems implementations, upgrades, enhancements and changes are well defined and appropriately supported.
Reporting to the Team Lead, Corporate Systems, the Corporate Systems Business Analyst is a technical contributor with experience in writing queries, scripts and making adjustments to non-production environments. The successful candidate is an excellent communicator with proven experience acting as the business interface for a technical team.
Analysis of Business Requirements
Collaborate with corporate departments to determine systems requirements.
Translate business needs and requirements into coherent functional and technical specifications.
Review business opportunities, technical specifications, as well as provide advice to determine if the initiatives are feasible.
Create ad hoc reports responding to requests for data and analyze business procedures and problems to develop specifications.
Act as an advisor and making recommendations in response to new solutions.
Ensure roadmap for Corporate Applications is aligned with other IS roadmaps.
Project Development and Support
Act as a liaison between the business unit, the technology team and the support team throughout multiple project lifecycles.
Liaise with and coordinate the activities of business application vendors and internal and external service providers.
Provide support to project teams and other IS team members.
Documentation of Processes and Technical Specifications
Participate in the definition and improvement of business application support processes and procedures.
Assist in the preparation and update of business processes.
Prepare, maintain and distribute business application technical and business user documentation.
Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation and training users.
Prepare and deliver informative, well-organized presentations and communications.
Trouble Shooting and System Maintenance
Troubleshoot, analyze, prioritize and help coordinate the resolution of problems and issues with business applications.
Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for business applications and liaise with the IS Service Desk on incidents or service requests.
Provide system-level support for a multi-user operating environment.
Coordinate and participate in the implementation of changes, enhancements and upgrades to business applications.
Participate in and coordinate all types of testing and quality assurance activities related to specific business applications.
Configure and manage business applications per business and technical requirements.
Establish and maintain close working relationships with vendors and service providers.
Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Systems Analyst for medium to large organization.
Experience working in a technology-related position for medium to large enterprises with complex technology environments.
Strong understanding of integrating finance applications.
Experience with PeopleSoft solutions.
Experience with cloud application support and implementation.
Experience with reporting tools, such as PeopleSoft BI publisher and Microsoft Power BI.
Post-secondary graduate with a degree, diploma or certificate in computer science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Evening and occasional weekend work will be required.
Ability to participate in on-call after hours’ support rotation may be required.
