The Team
Our team is responsible for the systems that enable financial crimes identification (FINTRAC) and vendor-based platform (FCRM). The system support over 800 users and is critical in the fight against financial crimes.
The Role
The Project Leader Development is a key manager position in the Financial Crimes Technology team, responsible for supporting and delivering system solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders including business partners in Anti-Money Laundering Operations, Compliance, business analyst, architecture, and infrastructure and support to understand business requirements and drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions that best support the business need.
Some of the key accountabilities include:

Gather requirements, design, and build new features

Collaborate with the product owner, project manager and other relevant teams
-
Ensure best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
-
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
-
Excellent understanding of developer life cycle and enterprise developer tools
What You Will Bring to Succeed
- 5+ Years of experience designing and implementing large scale enterprise level distributed systems, ETL analytical and reporting workflows
- Expertise in .NET framework, SSIS, SSRS and PowerShell scripting

Expert-level skills in writing and optimizing SQL.

Hold regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects.

Analyze, plan, and develop requirements and standards in reference to scheduled technical projects.

Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings.

Extensive experience with managing data operations including performance and reliability engineering, incident management, capacity planning, observability, tooling and automation, and disaster recovery planning, etc.

In depth knowledge of architecture domains, including business, application, data, infrastructure and security architectures.

Identify technical obstacles and risks early on and work closely with team to find creative solutions to build prototypes & develop deployment strategies, procedures, road maps etc.

Ability to identify the architectural gaps to ensure tools, processes and code is complaint to AML industry standards

Ensure operational effectiveness and address any production issues.

Experience with full lifecycle of agile software development from requirements and design through to development, testing, deployment, and support

Working knowledge of JIRA, Git, Bitbucket, Confluence

Working knowledge of Oracle products and Autosys would be a great asset

Focused on achieving technical excellence and improvements, while focussing on customer value

Execution focused with an ability to navigate ambiguity, Proven track record of sharing outcomes through written communication, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
