Benefit Cosmetics Canada is looking for a Marketing Director to join our growing team! This role will be responsible for providing strategic marketing leadership resulting in retail sales growth in all channels of distribution. Additionally, this person will be responsible for ensuring a clear and consistent brand and Marketing/PR voice nationally.

Reporting to the General Manager, Canada and working closely with the Retail Account Managers, Digital Marketing Manager, and PR Manager & The National Brow Artist, the Marketing Director will determine and oversee strategic co-op promotions, sampling programs & retail event plans that maximize brand & star product focus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Overall Responsibilities

Lead, coach and develop a team of 7+ marketing, PR, creative and social media professionals
Own how and when we communicate across all our marketing channels
Create and execute dynamic marketing and PR strategies that will build upon the brand’s success, ensuring consistent message integration across all programs, promotions and products
Champion the need for a consistent customer experience through all channels of distribution
Lead the development and execution of the Marketing /PR strategies to support the brand DNA and companywide objectives
Develop and implement effective Marketing /PR initiatives to increase sales, profitability and brand awareness with specific focus on new product launches and key initiatives for core products
Develop and execute measurable direct marketing /non-traditional marketing programs to reach new consumers
Ensure that the Marketing and PR teams collaborate and work synergistically to maximize all internal and external programs
Be knowledgeable on key industry influencers and stay abreast of industry news.
Work closely with Americas & Global marketing teams and drive cross functional collaboration with extended marketing teams (Digital Marketing , Paid Media, Global Campaigns) to execute campaigns and events in the Canadian market

Full P&L responsibility for marketing budget

Retail Marketing

Partner with Retailer Account Managers to ensure brand essence and DNA is projected accurately in Retail, both in B&M and on Ecommerce
Create “best-in-class” marketing programs with cross-functional marketing and wholesale teams for any new product launches or key initiatives to drive core products.
Lead Marketing teams to ensure brand marketing (events, promotions, incentives) are executed flawlessly
Lead a strategic vision, ensuring the ideal deployment of marketing strategies and capabilities delivered through social, digital, PR and retail
Partner with the E-commerce Manager to identify exclusive online opportunities to support growth
Define an experience driven approach with customers to engage them in the brand across online and offline formats
Work closely with Visual Merchandising and Creative Manager to plan and execute merchandising/visual priorities to support retailer programs

Brand Awareness

Lead the annual Bold is Beautiful campaign by creating 360 marketing plans, working closely with our charity partners
Partner with Accounts and Marketing Teams to strategize on Digital, PR, and Social goals. Set key metrics to ensure deliverables are met to impact brand awareness
Interpret customer research/trends and translate into actionable strategic plans that can achieve business goals.

Qualifications and/or Experience:

5-10 years experience in retail marketing and/or promotions
5-10 years public relations experience required
5+ years management experience
Strong strategic vision and creative skills balanced by a highly analytical, hands on and detail oriented approach
Very strong leadership / cross-functional relationship building skills
Excellent communications, presentation and organizational skills both verbal and written
A sense of urgency, high energy and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
Articulate thinker with a sense of humor and an ability to take creative direction, react quickly, and interact productively during brainstorming meetings
Passion for fashion and beauty
Entrepreneurial spirit that will help drive results
Advanced understanding of Social Digital Marketing Platforms
Business degree with Marketing focus or equivalent required
