The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of trades employees and the coordination of daily maintenance activities required to effectively meet the production plan. Collaborating with the various department managers and the Maintenance Planner, the incumbent will be responsible for the execution of the maintenance plan.

 Responsible for the coordination of shift activities, providing guidance with identified equipment priorities;
 Foster continuous improvement activities, reduction of equipment downtime/change overs, capacity planning, waste/scrap reduction and cost control;
 As a member of the Continuous Improvement line team, ensure key performance indicators are communicated and met including Health and Safety, quality, efficiency and cost;
 Supports and maintains Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P.’s quality standards and ensures maintenance practices meet HACCP and BRC requirements;
 Build capability in Operating Teams and Equipment Owners to deliver overall line results.
 Lead, develop and mentor a team of skilled technical trades staff to support production priorities.
 Provide support to maintain and improve all process/packaging technologies including capital projects and building maintenance within operating budget;
 Work with Department Managers, Engineering and suppliers to optimize safety, quality, line efficiencies and equipment reliability;
 Assist with resolving significant maintenance problems, provide direction to Maintenance team members; progress toward eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses.
 Coordinate and follow up with maintenance activities with vendors, preventative maintenance planning and labour scheduling within a continuous operation environment;
 Promote health, safety policies and programs to reduce accidents by supporting the training with a continuous focus on Health &Safety;
 Foster and maintain a positive work environment within a fast paced, unionized manufacturing environment;
 Ensures equipment and building complies to standards, codes and regulations;
 Perform any other related tasks.

 Mechanical Engineer, Millwright or Machinist degree/diploma or trade certification;
 Requires knowledge/experience working with plant computerized maintenance management systems and a passion for systemic solutions versus “fix it when it breaks”;
 Leadership/supervisory experience within the food or consumer packaged goods sector;
 Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role;
 Innovative, analytical and technically sound in mechanical/electrical maintenance;
 Exceptional leadership, interpersonal and communication skills;
 Understanding of equipment reliability / Overall Equipment Effectiveness
 Preventive Management Experience;
 Ability to manage administrative responsibilities related to technical trades (schedules, attendance, vacation, etc)
