The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

RTCS is a key strategic platform for Citi, chosen to provide the regulatory driven intra-day credit monitoring capabilities globally across the various asset classes. The platform provides real-time credit details to reflect client’s real time credit utilization & availability using appropriate criteria/analytics for credit risk management. Proprietary risk management and position revaluation algorithms are used to do calculations on various derivatives and non-derivative products across the asset classes. RTCS supports various asset classes such as FX/ Equities/ Commodities/ Rates and Credit. The platform also covers Investment grade Debt Securities and has been recently overhauled to carry out credit checks with low-latency (< 1 ms).

The overriding aim of the group is to deliver solutions to the business in the most effective way, and in a timely manner, meeting various internal and external regulatory requirements. The responsibility of the team currently includes but is not limited to:

Development and support of new features and functionality as required by the business
Support of existing application

This is a hands-on development role that will offer exposure to the full development cycle, whilst working closely with the technology manager and front office business.

Responsibilities:
Build, extend and maintain next generation of RTCS in line with strategic business goals
Build and rollout RTCS for new systems thus expanding client footprint
Extend RTCS functionalities for existing systems per business requirements
Expand RTCS processing capabilities by improving performance and stability
Work with business stakeholders on requirement analysis and solution design
Participate in development, review, testing and delivery of RTCS components
Work closely with the local team as well as members from other regions in handling day-to-day development and support activities

Qualifications:
5-8 years of relevant experience in developing distributed, high volume/low latency global application in a trading environment.
Strong grasp of fundamental computer science concepts: data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and object oriented design

Proficiency in Java 8, Spring is must

Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Proficiency in enterprise level application development in J2EE, Gemfire (or comparable caching technologies) and HTML5
Strong experience working with databases/stored procedures using Oracle or a similar enterprise database
Experience working with Message protocols and format using middleware such as Solace or Tibco EMS
Experience working in real-time high frequency, low latency projects is a plus
Knowledge of Credit risk valuation methodologies, margin trading is a plus
Nice to have: Knowledge of Chronicle, Angular JS, FIX protocol and socket APIs
Nice to have: Experience working in the financial industry preferably with trade capture and processing.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
