Summary

The Program Manager, under the direction of the Executive Director is primarily responsible for the coordination and management of the program. He or she is also required to coordinate with Corporate Managers and support staff with respect to scheduling, delegation, logistics and budgeting to ensure the successful facilitation of the employment programs. In addition, the Program Manager must ensure that staff are providing the level of support and counselling expected of them in their roles. He or she must be able to build and maintain relationships with important business and community partners. The position-holder requires extensive experience with resource and human service management in order to develop partnerships.

Job Duties

  • Organize and manage program
  • Assist Executive Director and Staffing Manager with the program budget(s) and ensure it is adhered to
  • Maintain information on community partners and businesses to assist clients in finding employment
  • Manage program communications and promotion
  • Ensure the safety of staff and clients
  • Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and training of staff under HR Management direction
  • Prepare and facilitate regular meetings with Program Staff
  • Maintain positive and professional communication with the Corporate office and support staff
  • Maintain statistics on client employment including month end reports
  • Keep up to date on employment trends and hiring techniques to facilitate the program’s effectiveness
  • Maintain client relationships and effectively manage the service management team
  • Participate in professional development activities
  • Liaise with businesses to determine employment possibilities
  • Meet with other program managers, ensuring that programs work in cooperation
  • Maintain detailed and accurate program records
  • Determine the necessary policies and procedures for programs
  • Manage the development, production and distribution of promotional and program materials
  • Review and assess feedback on all program components and staff working with clients for continuous improvement
  • Pursue professional development opportunities
  • Complete Program Staff Evaluations
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ability to cover all staff positions

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Social Sciences or a related field
  • 5 years or more of work experience in human or social services field
  • 5 years or more of work experience in program management
  • Demonstrated time management and project management skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication
  • Results oriented with proven ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems/conflicts quickly
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
  • Able to interpret and effectively manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines
  • Proven ability to organize, evaluate, communicate and present information, both verbally and written
  • Experience with coaching, mentoring and employee development
  • Proven experience with resource management required

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00 to $70,000.00 /year

Experience:

  • Counselling: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Customer Service: 5 years (Preferred)

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
