The Client Management team at Munich Re, Non-Life is looking for an AVP, Client Management in their Toronto office.

You are a member of the Client Management department of Munich Re, Canada (Non-Life). You will have responsibility for managing the result for designated client accounts and will help to enhance active client management as part of the holistic marketing and sales approach of Munich Re, Canada (Non-Life). You will concentrate on the further development of client relationships and acquisition of new clients In addition to growing the core business this implies a strong focus on initiating innovative business potentials (e.g. Data Analytics).
Developing and maintaining an in-depth understanding of the market and clients and building close, viable relationships to clients and distribution partners
Understanding clients’ demands and buying motivation and build client-specific sales strategies for our range of products and services
Positioning Munich Re as the partner of choice for all risk transfer issues, capital management topics as well as a partner for the development of innovative products and usage of data analytics
Managing and monitoring all client activities through management of the client team including drawing client action plans and planning of required resources (underwriters, specialists, etc.)
Defining and implementing client-specific sales strategies for our range of products and services, preparing high-quality and client-specific sales presentations (pitch books) and approach clients
Coordinating pricing, terms and conditions with the underwriting unit and other relevant teams.
Negotiating with clients in cooperation with underwriting and the specialist units involved, Deal prospection, preparation and closing, lessons learnt analysis and transfer of experiences
Taking responsibility for client projects for the execution of reinsurance transactions as well as services with the focus on data analytics
Strongly pronounced business generation skill coupled with the ability to build viable, sustainable relationships to important decision-makers in the client organization and to partners/brokers
Good Primary insurance know-how, Reinsurance know-how an asset
Good knowledge of Corporate Finance and Capital Management
Proven skills and experience in managing major projects involving a multitude of internal and external interfaces
High capacity for innovation combined with creativity, initiative and entrepreneurship
Well-developed analytical skills
Highly motivated, willingness to travel frequently
Strong teamwork and networking skills, willingness to cooperate and share knowledge
Confident, engaging manner, exceptional negotiation and presentation skills
Fluent in English; French language would be a strong asset
