POSITION SUMMARY

HSF Foods Ltd. is seeking an experienced Transportation Coordinator to join their team! The role of the Transportation Coordinator is to coordinate activities related to shipments of product to customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Process, maintain, monitor, and coordinate customer container pick-up and drop off
Prepare related documentation in accordance with the set operational procedures
Maintain and up-date and entries into computer systems
Communicate with customs brokers, overseas agents and partners, steamship lines, truckers and other third parties and obtain the required documents from each party at different points of each shipment and update the customers and the system accordingly
Resolve customer shipping issues and if necessary elevate to management for resolution
Prepare weekly and monthly potato average (price paid/100 weight)
Prepare daily potato purchase analysis
Coordinate with CFIA for easements
Prepare transportation invoices
Prepare and send invoices to customers
Coordinate with customers to ensure prompt payment
Responding to customer transportation inquiries
Provide general administrative office support (answer phone, e-mail, faxes, visitors etc.…)
Other duties as assigned
Follow established safe work procedures and work practices and comply to the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations of New Brunswick
QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:
Minimum High School Diploma
Certificate, diploma or degree in Business is considered an asset for this position
Work experience in an Accounting or Office environment is required to be considered for this position
Previous experience in Transportation/Shipping is preferred for this position
Proficient computer skills with standard software packages (MS Office), and reporting practices
Previous experience using Sage 50 Quantum Accounting Software considered an asset

Abilities:
Excellent decision-making skills
Knowledge and experience with manufacturing practices would be considered an asset
Must be a self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team
Applicants should be well organized and detail oriented
Applicants should be able to handle numerous tasks while prioritizing the workload effectively
Must be resourceful to investigate, problem solve, trouble-shoot, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines
Strong ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, high-level correspondence and memos, and can understand and interpret requests from management and production

Long periods of sitting - working with a PC
Occassional weekend work as required
