Aramark Canada is hiring a Marketing Communications Specialist who is passionate about food. The Specialist will support one of our technology business dining clients who is a large, well-established multinational technology companies in the world that specializes in Internet- Commerce related services and products. This role can be based out of Toronto or Waterloo, but will support Toronto, Waterloo, Ottawa, and Montreal sites. Travel between 15 – 25% will be expected.

Role summary

In this role, you will be working closely with the General Manager and Operations team to help bring the client’s vision and mission to life. The Marketing Communications Specialist is a champion, guardian, advocate and ambassador of the food brand.

Collaboratively with the General Manger and Food Services Director and other key stakeholders, you will plan, coordinate, organize and execute all communications initiatives, including both proactive and reactive communication to bring the culinary brand to life. The Specialist is to provide support on all local engagement activities, both partner and user facing, including but not limited to written and verbal communication, events, learning programs and community events.

Develops and executes communications plans that engage the team with the Culinary brand and identity in order to drive and advance user engagement
Positively manage the food programs internal and external communications within the approved communications framework
Create, manage and maintain the deployment of the marketing and communications toolbox.
Provide ongoing communication, training and skill building opportunities for Aramark vendor team in branding, marketing and conversation management.
Writes, edits and produces content (online, communication materials, collateral, etc.). Reviews and edits essential internal communications, presentations, tools and resources prior to dissemination to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
Creates and coordinates internal and local communication efforts that support initiatives and campaigns both locally and globally.
Drives the development of new content and experiments with ‘outside-the-box’ delivery channels for communication.
Maintains communication platform for telling and archiving the client’s story in a strategic way that supports the various business units and their users.
Builds and maintains core relationships with local stakeholders (client, business components, partners, and local communities).
Establishes and tracks ROI that links employee communications programs to brand engagement and organization performance.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications, or business.
2-5 years of experience in a related marketing, communications or PR job.
Retail, restaurant or food service experience a plus.
Excellent verbal, written communication, editing, proofreading, and grammar skills.
Ability to work autonomously, with little supervision while understanding and respecting approval channels.
Distinctive problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with impeccable business judgment
Proficient in Google Apps, presentation development, and word processing (preferred)
Out-of-the-box fresh thinker with the ability to execute and plan within Brand guidelines.
Willingness to travel: 15 – 25%
