This job is for the role of Compliance Pack Specialist (Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Assistant) at Shoppers Drug Mart #620 (1180 Walkley Road, Ottawa).

The successful candidate would be someone who:

  • Always puts the needs of our patients first
  • Familiar with compliance pack process and procedure, including billing and preparation of compliance packs
  • Works efficiently and accurately to provide the best level of care in their work
  • Organized and responsible
  • Works well in collaboration with pharmacist in preparing packs at the appropriate time
  • Flexibility in scheduling as per the needs of the business

There may be shifts on the retail side of the business, responsibilities of which would include:

  • Greeting patients promptly and professionally, providing excellent service
  • Accurately confirming the prescription and enters details correctly into the HealthWatch system
  • Conducting Third Party adjudication to ensure accurate billing
  • Accurately dispensing prescription medications
  • Maintaining pharmacy stock through inventory control systems
  • Answering over-the-counter (OTC) enquiries from patients and refering to the Pharmacist when needed
  • Handling customer prescription pick-up and assisting with cash responsibilities in the Pharmacy

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail setting (required)
  • Familiarity or experience with compliance pack procedure (required)
  • Previous experience with Healthwatch is an asset
  • Previous experience with Compliance Packaging or Central Fill is an asset
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) is an asset
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to excellent customer and patient care
  • High professional standards and disposition, and a high degree of patient confidentiality
  • Sound decision making and problem solving
  • Proficient computer/data entry skills

This position is full-time with majority of shifts Monday to Friday (some evenings required, based on needs of the business), however the flexibility and willingness to take additional shifts on the retail side is an asset.
