POSITION: WARD CLERK PROGRAM: Medical Unit
TYPE: Temporary, Full-time DURATION: Approximately two years

POSITION SCOPE: Reporting to the Manager of the Medical Unit or designate, the Ward Clerk is
responsible for the clerical duties assigned in the provision of efficient and effective patient care and the
functioning of the Unit. Duties include transcribing doctors’ orders, assembling patients’ charts, typing
minutes, correspondence and reports, compiling statistical information, maintaining supplies,
photocopying, faxing and booking appointments. The Ward Clerk provides pleasant, cooperative, timely
and accurate information to physicians, nursing staff and patients, exhibiting sound judgment and
initiative, while working within the Mission, Vision and Strategic Directions of the South Shore District
Health Authority (SSDHA), and incorporates into daily practice the Core Competencie.... |
