| Position Title: WARD CLERK Classification: PART TIME Hours of Work: VARIABLE Job Competition #: CLE12-005 Qualifications Secondary School Education required College diploma in Secretarial or Medical Office Administration preferred Knowledge of Medical Terminology required Experience, Skill, and Ability Accurate computer keyboarding skills required Experience on Meditech system and information data base Previous experience as Ward Clerk in an acute care setting an asset Effective communication and organizational skills with diplomacy, accuracy and attention to detail required Numerical skills required to compile statistics Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment Knowledge and experience with the staff scheduling module and the various Collective Agreements (ONA, OPSEU, SEIU) preferred Demonstrated ability to fulfill role within Attendance Support Program parameters Principal Duties Communicates with staff, inter-disciplinary team, families, physicians, and the community Functions as unit receptionist and secretary Completes clerical tasks such as: typing, filing, record keeping and statistics Processes.... |
