| Job Title: Travel Counsellor Job ID: 7505 Location: Inuvik Department ITI Tourism and Parks Return to Previous Page Position Summary Travel Counsellor Western Arctic Visitor Centre Industry, Tourism and Investment Seasonal Indeterminate (May to September) Inuvik, NT This position is responsible for providing information to traveling public and assisting in the overall daily operations of the centre and grounds to ensure visitors have a positive experience. Reporting the Supervisor, Western Arctic Regional Visitors Centre, this position has a direct impact on whether visitors choose to travel throughout the region now and in the future. The incumbent ensures that visitors to the centre are aware and have reasonable expectations of the natural and cultural diversity of the area and the tourism related opportunities available. Knowledge of the region, its history, people, cultures, products and services, as well as the ability and confidence to speak publicly while remaining composed during stressful times is required. Experience working with computerized programs is also required. Typically, this knowledge, skills and abilities would be acquired by a university or community college.... |
