Part-time / Occasional Job Opportunity
We are recruiting Standardized Patients for the RCPSC examinations. They are held in the
spring and fall during the months of, May, June and the months of September and
October. Training for SP roles occurs during the months March, April, August
and September.
A Standardized Patient is a healthy person who is trained to portray the personality,
history, body language, physical findings and emotional characteristics of the patient they
are representing. Standardized Patients are used to simulate situations for the candidate
physicians, such as meeting a patient for the first time in a clinic, or in an emergency
room, or interviewing the patient about his/her clinical condition. The Standardized
Patient (SP) must repeatedly present the given scenario in the very same way for every
candidate in a realistic and consistent manner.
You will be hired as a part-time, occasional employee and must be available during the
weekdays for training and practice sessions. You will be portraying your role for a half
day or full day during exam sessions. The remuneration is $15/hour for the training and
