| Sociology - Assistant Professor (Sociology of Health and Health Care) University of New Brunswick Location: New Brunswick Date posted: 2010-08-16 The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin July 1, 2011 in the sociology of health and health care. While the sub-areas of specialization are open, a focus on the social determinants of health and on public policy would be an asset. Applicants must have a PhD or strong prospect of completion before July 2011 in sociology or in a related discipline. A solid research record and a demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching are required. The department offers both undergraduate and graduate (MA and PhD) programs. Department members engage in undergraduate and graduate teaching and research, and community involvement is also encouraged. The department supports a variety of theoretical and methodological orientations. The successful applicant will develop a research program in the sociology of health as it relates to her/his specific interests. Health is one of the three foci in the department; the other two are media and communications, and family violence. .... |
