| Senior Payroll Manager Location: Barrie Industry: Engineering Type: Full Time Pay Rate: Negotiable Post Date: 01/25/2012 Job Description: Manage a large department of payroll staff ensuring the effective delivery of daily, weekly and monthly operations. Ensure that payroll is processed accurately and timely. Ensure the controls over the payroll function are in place and functioning as designed. Major Duties and Responsibilities Ensure accuracy, integrity and consistency of processing individual payrolls according to prescribed payroll processing cycles Ensure that requisite operating/desktop procedures are complete and current and continuously reviewed for applicability and compliance This requires an understanding of key processes including, but not limited to: - Taxes and Premiums (EHT, EI, CPP, Workers Compensation) - Period-end reporting, remittance processing/payment and filings - Liabilities, including payroll related taxes, benefits, vacation accruals, long term disability and garnishments. - Ensure that payroll and remittance processing are in compliance with statutory (legislated) requirements - Ensure that master data, tables, etc are updated accurately and on a timely b.... |
