| Title Seasonal Equipment Operator Job Number RPM-18-12 Employee Group Non-Union Department Roads & Parks Maintenance Employment Status Seasonal - CUPE Only Position Overview Reporting to a Parks Supervisor, the successful applicants will perform a variety of services operating equipment. This seasonal position is expected to run for up to 6 months, May to October, subject to operational need. Responsibilities The Equipment Operator will provide a variety of services such as: Patrolling assigned parks Monitoring sports field lights Checking sports field user permits Performing minor parks maintenance and repairs Cleaning public washroom facilities Emptying garbage receptacles from parks, playground, parking lots, etc Operating city vehicles and equipment such as pickup trucks, mowers and tractors Requirements The successful candidate will ideally have a high school diploma and demonstrated experience in operating equipment. The Seasonal Equipment Operator will also have experience in sports field and parks maintenance, municipal experience is preferred and demonstrate the ability to enforce policies, such as permits for sports field user groups.
