| Safety Advisor Employment Status: Full Time Permanent Category: UUWA Location: Calgary, Alberta (Foothills Office) Closing Date: 1/31/2012 12:00:00 AM Summary AltaLink has a commitment to ensure our employees and our contractor employees are competent in all safety and technical requirements to work in a high voltage environment. The Safety Advisor will assist AltaLink in meeting this commitment by acting as a business partner with workers and management providing coaching, consulting, and leading in the resolution of issues as they relate to health and safety standards, programs, and procedures. The Safety Advisor will provide safety oversight of field activities and provide onsite guidance for contractors related to safety procedures and regulation compliance. The Safety Advisor will also work as one of AltaLink's Level Two Electrical Safety Code Officers as part of the commitment to maintain AltaLink's Accredited Corporation status.The demand on this role has significantly increased due to the high volume of projects and the need to ensure the personnel working on behalf of AltaLink are competent in their role.
