| SURVEY TECHNICIAN II (INSTRUMENT PERSON) Temporary Full-time (for approximately 6 months) (2 positions) LOCATION: 150 Frederick St. , Kitchener Surveys, using conventional and computerized instruments, proper distance and elevation measurements for roads, buildings, sewers and water mains used in the drawing of plans for construction projects and for construction layout. Collaborates with the Survey Technician I (Party Chief) to determine the most effective approach to survey newly assigned road, sewer, water main, and landfill projects. Operates both electronic distance measuring total station survey instruments as well as conventional transit and level. Collaborates with the Survey Technician I (Party Chief) in assembling and checking survey information and the Second Order Horizontal control Monuments. Utilizes a Global Positioning System ( GPS ) and satellite receiver station to establish horizontal and vertical data for assigned surveys. Collaborates with the Survey Technician I (Party Chief) in organizing the cadastral survey information and utility.
