POSITION: Respiratory Therapist PROGRAM: Respiratory Therapy
TYPE: Temporary, Full-time DURATION: Approximately one year

POSITION SCOPE: Reporting to the Director, Health Services – Acute Care, or designate, the
Respiratory Therapist is an integral and collaborative member of the healthcare team and is responsible for the
provision of diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients with respiratory diseases, respiratory failure and medical
and/or surgical issues. The Respiratory Therapist complies with the Scope of Practice of the Nova Scotia College
of Respiratory Therapists, and exhibits sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the
Mission, Vision and Strategic Directions of the SSDHA, and incorporates into daily practice the Core
Competencies and Values of the SSDHA: Excellence, Integrity, Respect, Accountability and Leadership.
