| Research Scientist Posted Date: 07-02-2012 Location: Chalk river, Ontario, Canada Description: Duties Work with a team developing inspection systems and methods, performing R&D on NDE techniques targeting nuclear and other systems, and performing inspections. Responsibilities: Perform research in optical and radiation-based NDE techniques and their application. Participate in development on new NDE methods and procedures. Participate in NDE inspection activities at CRL and around the world. Work with technical staff to ensure safe operation of CRL facilities and equipment. The incumbent will be expected to work overtime when required. Qualifications · Master's or doctorate degree in physics or engineering physics from a university of recognized standing · A few years related scientific working experience or a PhD in science · Knowledge of applied optics. · Knowledge of radiation measurement or spectroscopy. · General computer literacy. · Expertise with spreadsheet software. · Knowledge of NDE techniques. · Knowledge of CANDU components. · Knowledge of radiation protection.
