| Research Associate HLA Laboratory Term Full-time 6 months Competition #: 17-12-764083895 Under the general direction of the Director and the Scientist, HLA Laboratory, the incumbent develops new techniques, such as TREC assays, micro-chimerism, analyzes the results and makes recommendations for implementation. Qualifications: MD or PhD in a related science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from a recognized university. Educational background in the fields of immunology and/or genetics preferred. Demonstrated research experience is required. Demonstrated experience in molecular techniques such as nucleic acid extraction, PCR, electrophoresis, primer and probe design and basic laboratory procedures such as cell culture are required. Must be experienced in the development of new assays and techniques. Experience with real time PCR is preferred. Must be able to function independently and communicate effectively.
