| Job Type: Full Time Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada Job Category: Research, Science, Technician Industry: Education Years of Experience: 2 UBC Department of Chemistry invites applications for a Research Assistant/Technician 3 to analyse samples including synthetic compounds and natural products for researchers and produces mass spectra using API-MS system that includes ESI and APCI ion sources; perform LC-MS analysis; analyses samples including metal coordination complexes, supramolecular complexes and synthetic polymers using MALDI-TOF MS; analyses samples using EI ion source on a double focusing sector mass spectrometer; participates in the development of new analytical procedures and conducting developmental research towards new and/or more efficient analysis techniques; provide necessary maintenance to achieve optimum performance of the instruments and performs routine preventive maintenance on instrument support systems; maintains the instrument’s data system and associated software; maintain stock of consumable parts and repair items; maintain logbook of all sample runs and documents all instrument problems and downtime including symptoms and solutions /modifications made dur.... |
