Justice & Corr Return to Previous Page Position Summary Relief Institutional Nurse North Slave Correctional Centre Department of Justice Yellowknife, NT Reporting to the Health Services Supervisor, the Relief Institutional Nurse will act as an inmate advocate in relation to health issues and concerns and will encourage and promote healthy lifestyle changes through a variety of health education programs. The Relief Institutional Nurse models and promotes excellence in nursing care while caring for low, medium and high risk offenders ensuring North Slave Correctional Centre??s safety and security measures, policies and procedures are adhered to. Applicants must have an advanced knowledge of and an ability to apply the nursing process as well as current nursing practice to ensure that the offender??s physical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual and health education needs are met. The successful candidate must have experience in action planning, operating medical equipment, and educating others on appropriate self-care methods and techniques.
