POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Nursing and the direction of
the registered nurse on duty, performs duties requiring basic knowledge, skill and judgment in planning, implementing,
and evaluating nursing care, and contributes to the continuing assessment of health needs of residents.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Functions within the scope of the Homes' and Nursing philosophy, goals, objectives, policies, standards and
programs.
2. Participates in the planning, development and evaluation of the unit's objectives and contributes to the unit's
decision-making processes.
3. Utilizes the nursing process in providing and maintaining quality resident care, including preventative, curative, re-
adaptive and supportive aspects of care using pre-set procedures.
