| Title Registered Nurse Job ID MHCC-12-013 Function The Registered Nurse promotes the achievement of an acceptable level of self care for patients and their families. Duties include: assisting with physician clinics, colposcopy clinics, administering chemotherapy, assisting in the management and treatment of side effects of chemotherapy, symptom control, emotional support, education, rehabilitation, cancer prevention and early detection. The nurse works closely with all members of the health care team to provide safe, comprehensive and individualized care. Where appropriate, the Registered Nurse practices within a system of primary nursing and evidence based practice. Duties & Responsibilities As a team member, and within a system of primary nursing, the nurse provides assistance to patients and their families in the following areas: ? Nursing assessment of cancer patients ? Support to physician clinics for new and follow-up patients ? Chemotherapy treatments and supportive treatments/procedures ? Support to colposcopy clinic, hematology clinics, including assistance with procedures and patient teaching ? Patient and family teaching in all aspects of cancer and cancer care ? Emotion.... |
