| Title Registered Nurse Job ID TBCC-12-030 Duties & Responsibilities This position works from both the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and Holy Cross Sites. The Registered Nurse practices within a system of primary nursing in an ambulatory oncology setting which includes systemic, radiation, gynaecological, and surgical oncology and other multidisciplinary oncology clinics. The nurse assists patients and their families in the management of treatment side effects, symptom control, emotional support, education, rehabilitation, chemotherapy administration, cancer prevention and early detection. The nurse works closely with members of the health care team to provide safe, comprehensive and individualized patient care. Qualifications ? Graduate of a recognized school of nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred. ? Must demonstrate an interest in all aspects of Oncology Nursing ? Must demonstrate good organizational skills and an ability to communicate effectively and work within a multi-disciplinary team. ? Oncology and ambulatory nursing experience desirable ? Certification in IV and/or chemotherapy administration desirable. ? Must have current CARNA membership and BLS certification..... |
