| REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE COMPETITION NO: 11-709 STATUS : Casual Part Time (2) DEPARTMENT : In-Patient Mental Health REPORTS TO : Manager, Mental Health SALARY : $25.22 - $27.11 per hour HOURS : Days, Evenings, Nights and Weekends 7.5 and 11.5 Hour Shifts JOB SUMMARY: To provide a high quality of nursing care to patients and their families utilizing the nursing process, following established standards of practice both within the hospital and the profession. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of a recognized program for Registered Practical Nurses. Holds a current general certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario. Mental Health Certificate preferred or willing to obtain within the first year of employment. Current BCLS. Minimum 2 years recent experience in an acute psychiatric unit. Knowledge of psychiatric nursing diagnosis and analysis. Problem solving, crisis interactions. Demonstrates behaviours consistent with York Central Hospital’s Code of Conduct. Proven attendance record. Ability to perform the essential duties of the job. Demonstrates YCH Core Values; Accountability, Collaboration, Leadership, Respect and Safety.
