| Position Title Position Title R&D Optical Design Engineer Position Location Canada - Ottawa AutoReqId 15562BR Labor Type Employee - Regular Full-time or Part-time Full-time Position Details Work within a small multi-disciplinary team of senior R&D engineers (mechanical, thermal, RF, process, material science) to develop best-in-class optical components for the next-generation optical networks (40G/100G/400G). Responsible for the optical design of actives and passives optical components. The enabling technologies include micro-optics, thin-film filters, MEMS devices, planar lightwave circuit, diffractive optics, etc. Select optical technologies against design requirements, define component specifications, perform design tolerancing, interface with component suppliers to optimize manufacturability and minimize cost, define alignment procedures and assembly process flow. Construct experimental setups to validate optical design and components performance. Required Qualifications Master or Ph.D. degree in optics, or other related engineering field. Strong optics background, in particular physical optics, Gaussian beams, coupling efficiency simulations, optical waveguides, thin-film filt.... |
