| RESPONSIBILITIES: - Create annual PR plan in conjunction with Regional PR plan and Hotel's Sales and Marketing plan that delivers success on behalf of the hotel, the region and the Fairmont Brand. - Write and distribute newsworthy media releases, press kits and photo releases. - Act as a creative catalyst for new ideas, packages and initiatives that favourably position The Fairmont Chateau Whistler in targeted media outlets (primary focus includes Sales, Food & Beverage efforts). - Plan and coordinate media familiarization tours to The Fairmont Chateau Whistler, and where appropriate, working with Fairmont PR teams in the region to coordinate regional media FAMS. - Develop and build strong relationships with: local, Canadian, U.S., international and freelance travel media as well as U.S and European PR agencies and other PR reps across the brand. - Develop and build strong relationships with local, provincial and Canadian tourism agencies to benefit of the hotel, destination and region. - Work with DOSM to maintain up-to-date photography. - Develop B-roll footage and keep up-to-date. - Develop strategic social media initiatives and communicate through various platforms including Fa.... |
