| Principal - Unama'ki College Cape Breton University Location: Nova Scotia Date posted: 2012-02-02 PRINCIPAL UNAMA'KI COLLEGE of CAPE BRETON UNIVERSITY Cape Breton University (CBU) is located on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia's tourism centerpiece and home to rich Mi'kmaq, Celtic, and Acadian culture. CBU has a reputation for small class sizes, strong community involvement, and strong internal support for faculty research. Unama'ki College (UC) of Cape Breton University invites applications for the position of Principal of Unama'ki College (5 year term). This position will commence July 2012, or when filled. Reporting to CBU's Vice-President Academic and Professional Studies (Provost), the Principal of Unama'ki College will provide leadership in the development and implementation of programs and services at CBU that support Aboriginal students and the overall advancement of Indigenous scholarship (including development of programs and grant proposals). Presently, 250 Aboriginal students study at CBU and Unama'ki College is home to their student lounge and study area, student services, the Department of Indigenous Studies, the Mi'kmaq Resource Centre, and the Mi'kmaq Language Lab.
